As part of an ongoing commitment to support its park partners, the dedicated staff from Boerne Parks and Recreation recently stepped up to assist with a pressing trail issue at the Cibolo Center for Conservation.
The beloved and popular Greenman Trail has experienced significant use over the years, resulting in general wear and tear and drainage problems.
Recognizing the urgency and constraints, Parks and Recreation veteran Kelly Warner took the lead in devising a piece of equipment that would help staff tremendously.
Warner collaborated with the parks staff to weld a custom granite spreader to address the trail’s issues. Over the course of two and a half days, a team of five to six park staff worked diligently to lay and rebuild 1,080 feet of trail.
Their collective efforts were instrumental in ensuring the trail was restored to a high standard.
“The success of this endeavor would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of each team member,” Parks and Recreation Director Lissette Jimenez said. “This project showcased the spirit of teamwork and community that defines Boerne Parks and Recreation.”
The maintenance of the trail is now complete and it is open to the public.
