Boerne District 3 Councilman Quinten Scott announced his intention to step down from the City Council during the July 8 regular meeting.

“I have been happy to serve, but those days are coming behind me,” Scott said. “I appreciate all the members of the council that I have gotten to serve with. Those that are here, those that have come and gone.”

He said he is looking forward to the future and is confident City Council will select a good replacement to serve District 3.

The Boerne City Council formally accepted Scott’s resignation and declared the District 3 seat vacant at its July 22 meeting.

Per the City of Boerne Charter, Scott may continue to serve until the vacancy is filled by City Council. Eligible candidates must have lived within District 3 for at least six months before appointment.

District 3 residents interested in applying for the vacancy can apply Monday, July 28 through Friday, August 15. The application will be available on the City’s website or to pick up in person at City Hall, 447 N. Main Street.

Scott was first elected to represent District 3 during a special election in May 2019 and was reelected in 2020, 2022, and 2024. He recently relocated to a home outside the city limits, prompting the resignation.
