Staff from Boerne Utilities were recently recognized with two awards for their efforts to promote natural gas safety among employees and customers alike.
“I want to thank everyone at Boerne Utilities for taking our standard of excellence seriously with the services you provide,” City Manager Ben Thatcher said. “I’m proud of the work you do day in and day out.”
The first is the Safety Achievement Award from the Texas Gas Association, which is presented to TGA municipal members who demonstrate an ongoing focus on the importance of safety in the workplace.
The second is the Safety Award from the American Public Gas Association for Boerne Utilities’ efforts to maintain the safety and integrity of its natural gas system for customers and the employees who operate it. This is the fourth year in a row Boerne Utilities had received the APGA award.
“Once again we are the only utility of our size in Texas to receive this award from the APGA,” Utilities Director Mike Mann said. “Both awards are in recognition of the hard work of everyone from the crews in the field and administration, to customer service and billing.”
Boerne Utilities provides natural gas service to just under 4,000 customers from two substations it operates on the south end of the city.
The staff were recognized at the August 27 City Council meeting for their dedication to safety.
