Boerne Police warn of latest scam targeting online payments

Posted on:

The Boerne Police Department is investigating after multiple people reported being scammed out of nearly $40,000 via online payments.

A business calling itself “Allways Boerne” is falsely advertising high-end luxury vehicles for sale online and is using the former Jennings Anderson dealership as its physical address on its website.

Boerne Police officers have confirmed with the property owner that this location is only an auto body and detailing shop and not a car dealership of any kind.

We encourage the public to stay alert and verify the legitimacy of online sellers before making large purchases.

  • Avoid sending large payments upfront. This is especially true of wire transfers, cryptocurrency, or gift cards, which are commonly used in scams.
  • Verify the business independently. Look up the company using a phone number or website you find on your own, not the one provided by the seller.
  • Be cautious of online sales. If a deal seems unusually good or the person you’re doing business with pressures you to act quickly, pause and double check.

None of the victims are from Boerne. BPD is working to connect them with the appropriate law enforcement agencies.

Keep up with the latest from the Boerne Police Department online and on Facebook.
