The Boerne Police Department is investigating a four-vehicle crash that investigators believe was triggered by road rage on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2026.
According to a preliminary investigation, just before 7:20 a.m. on Interstate 10 West an unidentified white Mercedes sedan driven by a white female was reportedly speeding and driving aggressively.
A second motorist began driving aggressively in response to the original driver. The two drivers exchanged hand gestures before the second driver lost control of their vehicle, striking a vehicle traveling in the right lane. That vehicle then hit the center barrier on IH-10 West near the Highway 87 exit.
The initial impact led to a chain reaction involving another vehicle and an 18-wheeler. In total, five vehicles were involved in the crash, with four vehicles sustaining contact damage.
One person was transported to Methodist Boerne Hospital as a precaution. The roadway has since reopened.
Police are seeking information about the driver of the white Mercedes sedan. Anyone with information is asked to call (830) 248-8645.
The Boerne Police Department reminds drivers not to engage with aggressive motorists. If you encounter someone driving unsafely, maintain a safe distance and call 911 to report the behavior.
