Boerne took home wins for the fourth consecutive year in the annual Texas Travel Awards competition. Launched by the publishers of Austin Monthly and Texas Music, the awards were created to celebrate the top travel destinations and attractions across the Lone Star State.
Boerne-based attractions were selected by a panel of judges as winners in two major categories: Visit Boerne won Best Destination Social Media Account (Small/Mid-Market) while Cypress Grille was named Best Restaurant (Small/Mid-Market).
Visit Boerne’s Instagram and Facebook accounts are well-followed favorites, featuring everything from the biggest Boerne attractions to best kept secrets that will elevate any guest’s experience. Packed with tons of creative content, beautiful photos and curated visits from top content creators, it’s a great place to get to know Boerne and all it has to offer.
“Our socials are a window into all things Boerne, and we work hard to honestly and creatively share that beautiful view,” Visit Boerne Director Larry Woods said. “It’s a tool to not only plan a visit to Boerne, but to be able to connect with our community and those who are getting to know our city.”
Guests are also encouraged to stop at the Boerne Visitor Center, where staff and volunteers are ready to help plan the perfect getaway.
Cypress Grille has been a staple on the Hill Country Mile for years, known for its authentic wood-fired cuisine, beautiful interior and a wine list that will impress even the most discriminating oenophile. Owner, Chef, and Sommelier Paul Thompson has been at the helm since Cypress Grille opened nearly two decades ago, insisting on scratch-made offerings like homemade ice cream, rolls, and even the bread bowls in which his famous artichoke dip is served.
The Hill Country-influenced menu offers steaks, chops, and seafood served with well-appointed sides, while daily lunch specials feature favorites chicken pot pie, meatloaf and a prime rib sandwich – all in the heart of Boerne’s Hill Country Mile.
Also nominated for Texas Travel awards this year were Free Roam Brewing Company for Best Brewery, the City of Boerne’s River Road Revitalization Project, The Boerne Mural for Best Instagrammable Spot, and Camp Bar & Feed for Best Bar.
“Every place mentioned is worth its own trip to Boerne,” Woods said. “Add in the unique hotels, Hill Country Mile, museums, and galleries – and the fact we are a hub to many Hill Country destinations – and you’ve easily filled a week.”
Boerne, located just 20 miles northwest of San Antonio, offers a variety of modern, historic, and unique hotels, shops, galleries, and restaurants, along with plenty of activities that make it perfect for a day trip, weekend getaway or days-long vacation.
