The Boerne Book Festival returned Saturday, Oct. 4 with an exciting lineup of author discussion panels, children’s activities, vendors, and much more.

This year’s festival was held at the Patrick Heath Public Library (451 N. Main Street) instead of Main Plaza, where the event has been held in previous years. The literary extravaganza kicked off in the morning and went through most of the afternoon.

Dozens of authors were in attendance to promote their books and meet with festivalgoers. The event also hosted vendors on the library’s back lawn, including:

  • The Writers’ League of Texas
  • The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators
  • San Antonio Sci-Fi and Fantasy Writers
  • Sisters in Crime
  • South Texas Authors of Romance
  • UT Press
  • Texas Tech University Press
  • Trinity University Press
  • Texas A&M Press Consortium

Featured Programs

Scheduled programming featured bestselling authors Bryan Burrough and Stephen Harrigan, cookbook authors with Les Dames d’Escoffier, the popular Writers’ League of Texas panel discussion, a program about the Folklore Society of Texas, and a Writing to Heal panel discussion.

For the Kids

The Book Festival had something for the entire family. Kids enjoyed a talk with children’s book author/artist Kazu Kibuishi and book readings at the outdoor amphitheater with several authors.

The Book Fairy was also on hand throughout the day with fun activities for children of all ages.
