Stamp style logo reads "Begin Your Adventure at the Library"

This summer’s theme at the Patrick Heath Public Library is “Begin Your Adventure @ the Library.” Participants will have the opportunity to engage in activities as well as listen to fascinating speakers. Our discussion groups are even feeling adventurous. No registration is required to participate in most summer programs.

Head over to the library’s website to download a full summer brochure and see the calendar of events.

Summer Reading Challenges

Come pick up your Summer Reading Passport and begin your Adventure! For each challenge completed, bring your passport into the library and earn a passport sticker and a ticket for the raffle prizes at the end of the summer. That means the more you read, the more likely you are to win! There will be multiple prizes raffled off for the teen age group and the adult age group. See a list of all of the current Teen/Adult Reading Challenges. We will be adding more challenges as the summer goes on.

Little readers can join in with their own Summer Reading Challenge! Stop by the Youth department each week to pick up your reading challenge log and turn it in each Friday!

Programs for Adults, Children and Teens

Grownups continue learning throughout their lives, and we’re here to help facilitate that growth! Join us for programs that will entertain, inform, and encourage discussion. Come be a part of our recurring discussion groups that have an adventurous twist. We also offer special programs throughout June and July, and we’re very excited to bring you our “Armchair Adventures.”

Early literacy and learning are crucial to a child’s development, so we have created loads of fun and education programs for children and their families. Everyone’s favorite storytimes will continue, but some of them will be on different days. We also have an amazing kickoff program on Monday, June 3, and a closing extravaganza on Monday, July 22.

Teens and their families can enjoy adventure movies and they can also participate in our “Pirate Patrick’s Lost Loot @ PHPL.” We want to encourage teens to continue reading throughout the summer, so be sure and pick up your “Reading Passport” to track your progress.

Keep up with the Patrick Heath Public Library online, on Facebook, and on Instagram.
