Adler Road is anticipated to reopen to two-way traffic ahead of schedule on Friday, Aug. 28 at 10 a.m. following the completion of major culvert and roadway work accelerated after significant flooding impacted the area in July.
Crews completed final paving on Wednesday, Aug. 26 at both construction sites along the road and completed smaller elements of the culvert replacement project throughout the week before opening the road to the public.
“The crews at Gage and Cade Construction, LLC have been working seven days a week, from sunup to sundown,” Director of Engineering and Mobility Jeff Carroll said. “From cleaning up areas damaged by the flooding to rebuilding entire sections of roadway, they have accomplished a tremendous amount of work in approximately six weeks.”
The road was fully closed at No Name Creek following the flooding on July 15, which significantly impacted the ongoing construction that had been underway.
“We know how important Adler Road is to residents, schools, and everyone who travels through this area,” Carroll said. “Reopening the road to two-way traffic ahead of schedule is an important milestone, and we appreciate the community’s patience as we worked to get to this point as quickly and safely as possible.”
While the roadway will reopen to traffic, drivers should expect crews to remain in the area as work continues on smaller projects and tasks over the next few weeks.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution and watch for construction crews and equipment as the remaining work is completed.
