The Boerne Independent School District announced its 2024-25 school resource officers earlier this week ahead of the new school year, which starts Monday, August 12.
Each school in the district is assigned one school resource officer from the Boerne Police Department, the Fair Oaks Ranch Police Department, or the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, depending on which jurisdiction the school sits in. In total there are 16 SROs across the district with 10 being from the Boerne Police Department.
The SROs from Boerne PD are:
- Boerne Academy/18+: Sgt. Bo Patton
- Boerne Middle School North: Cpl. David Chavez
- Boerne High School: Officer Roger Fuentes
- Champion High School: Officer Stephen Moring
- Boerne Middle School South: Officer Keith Faulkner
- Boerne Middle School North: Cpl. David Chavez
- Cibolo Creek Elementary School: Officer Ryan Cook

Additionally, the following law enforcement personnel will be assigned to other BISD campuses in Fair Oaks Ranch and Kendall County.

Boerne Police and BISD first partnered in 1998 to create the SRO program and have expanded it to include all schools in the district. The school district and the City share in the costs associated with SROs. This collaboration strengthens safety and security measures at all district facilities.
School resource officers are seasoned patrol officers who have received hundreds of additional hours of specialized training in school safety, juvenile law, and the criminal enforcement portions of the Texas Education Code.
